FROM ENGINEER TO WATCHMAKER
The story of Max Twelve began in Zurich in 2020 with founder Fabian Lehner, a mechanical engineer from ETH Zurich. After working in mechanical engineering and later in operational excellence and Lean management, Fabian set out to bring the mindset and heritage of Swiss precision engineering into contemporary watchmaking.
The first Max Twelve was presented at BLICKFANG Zurich in 2022. Encouraged by the response from customers and collectors, Fabian decided in 2023 to leave his corporate career and dedicate himself fully to Max Twelve. Max Twelve GmbH was established in February 2024.
Today, Max Twelve is an independent Zurich watch atelier rooted in engineering tradition, combining an entrepreneurial mindset with Swiss manufacturing and hands-on watchmaking.

For Fabian, the character of a watch is not defined by its movement alone. The case, dial, materials and the way they are made are just as important. This is why Max Twelve invests heavily in the components you see, touch and experience every day.
This belief is why Max Twelve places particular importance on local value creation, responsible manufacturing and long-lasting, repairable products. Key design-defining components are manufactured in Switzerland, with the complete watch case and dial produced in the Canton of Zurich. Hand-finishing, assembly, regulation and testing are carried out in the Max Twelve atelier in Zurich.
For Fabian, the future of luxury is also about values. Beyond design, materials and exclusivity, it should reflect how and where a product is made. This philosophy is at the heart of Max Twelve: Luxury can afford local production.
